You and your tech-buddy will be given a series of challenges to complete in order for you to be able to know how to use your laptop properly and have the privilege of taking it home. Below are the challenges that must be completed. Once each step in finished please show it to Amy or Amanda so you are able to move on.

Create new folders on your desktop. Name them: writing, literature, project, working web sites and chemistry.
Open system preferences and change your background image.
Take a screen shot.
Change your airport. |

Open pages and select one of the poster templates.
Design a mini-poster about yourself. Replace the images with pictures that represent you and replace the text to tell about yourself.
Save the poster as aboutme.doc to your desktop. Place it in your projects folder. |

Open entourage and send an e-mail to Amy and Amanda. Type test in the subject box and a message of your choice in the text box.
Send a second e-mail to Amy and Amanda and send an attachment. (Use the about me poster you made earlier in the challenge.) |

Create an index page with your name at the top
Insert a table with the headings you would like. (Projects, Book Log, Writing, Literature, Math,....)
Insert at least one image on your page and cite the resource. (Make sure the image is located in your images folder of your working web sites folder.)
Save your web site as index.html and place it in your working web sites folder. |

Open cyberduck and log in.
Type in clccharter.org as the server and your e-mail address as the user name. Then enter your password.
Drag your new web site and your entire images folder over.
Check your work: type in your web site address in the toolbar to see if it worked. |
| Garageband |
Create a simple tune in garage band and export it to your itunes library.
Record your voice using garage band. |
| Fireworks |
Create a title for one of your web site's (example: your name, Book Log, Projects, etc.)
Create a canvas that is 800 pixels by 200 pixels in size
Use a least three effects on it.
Make sure to save as and export the image as a .gif and a .png
Place the image in your images folder in your working web sites folder. |

Check out Photo Booth and create a picture of you with a background from the iPhoto library |
| Flash Animation |
Create a simple flash animation of anything.

| Keynote |
Create a three to five slide keynote presentation on what you did over the summer.
Include a title slide, one to three content slides, and a conclusion slide.
Add in at least one image. |
