While Dominic is on a school field trip to Ellis Island he worries about the fact that he is an orphan and knows nothing of his family history. In order to avoid questions he hides in a broom closet. When he exists the closet everyone is gone and an immigrant on a phone speaks directly to him. Later Dominic sleeps, but when he wakes up he finds himself near a lemon grove in Italy in 1908. |

This was a great look into the life of an immigrant's journey across the ocean to a new life in America. I've told my friends to read this book. |
