About the story

17-year-old Harper Evans needs to run away from her life in L. A. Her father and step-mother are getting a divorce, she and her step-sister are no longer speaking to each other and her sometimes boyfriend isn't her friend any more. Harper is relieved when her father puts her on a plane headed to Bailey, Tennessee where she will spend the next 12 weeks as part of a work crew, with Homes from the Heart, helping a local family rebuild after a devastating tornado. More than rebuilding a home takes place while Harper is in TN.

My opinion

Although this book is geared more for high school readers, the message of rebuilding is universal. A few of my friends would like this book.
