About the story |
Homer and his older brother Harold are orphans living with the world's meanest uncle. When Harold stands up for Homer, Uncle Squint sells Harold to the Union army. Homer is determined to find Harold and save him from being killed. Along the way he meets some very interesting people and tells some far out tales. |
My opinion |
Homer is a great character who can tell some real whoppers and has some wild adventures. His adventures give the reader an insight into the North during the Civil War. Anybody who has ever exaggerated a tale or thought about exaggeratin one, should read this story. |
