Other Frequently Asked Questions How are students selected? An admissions lottery is held every year at the beginning of June. All applications from State College, Bellefonte, and Bald Eagle school districts received by that time will be included in the lottery. Applications will continue to be accepted afterwards from our three chartered school districts, as well as surrounding areas, and will be used to fill in remaining openings in the order they are received. Siblings of current students are given priority in the enrollment process. How much does it cost? The CLC is a PUBLIC school. There is no additional cost to the parent. Tax dollars support charter schools in the same way that they support other public schools. What is the relationship between the CLC and the surrounding local school districts? The CLC has strong, positive relationships with surrounding school districts. Our charter was approved by the State College, Bellefonte, and Bald Eagle School Districts (the only districts to receive the application). Students from these school districts are given priority in enrollment, but students from other school districts may attend as well. What about transportation? Transportation is provided by the local school districts, if you live in one of the districts that has approved the charter, or within 10 miles of the boundary of the State College Area School District. How do I learn more about the CLC Charter School? The best way to learn about the school is to visit. To arrange a visit, call the CLC office at 861-7980.
