Monday: Pick 5
words from this week's list. Use our 8 step process to study your words. Use the study sheet to record your work.
The 8 steps are to:
- write the word,
- say the word,
- break the word into prefix/root/suffix (or syllables),
- point to each letter and spell the word out loud,
- cover the word and spell out loud,
- uncover the word and check your spelling,
- cover the word and write the word,
- uncover the word and check your spelling.
Repeat as needed.
Tuesday - Use the 'Thesaurus' tool in Microsoft Word to help you to find a synonym and the part of speech for each of the vocabulary words you chose. Write the synonym and part of speech on your vocabulary/spelling study sheet.
Wednesday - Use each word in a grammatically correct
sentence that shows that you understand the meaning of the word.
Thursday - Turn in your work and practice the words on our Mrs. Frisby Study Stack page.
Friday - Do your corrections and take the spelling/vocabulary
test.
