Your final project for the CLC Medical School will be to create an interactive exhibit about a disease or condition of your choice. Your exhibit will be used to educate the general public (middle school students, staff, and parents) about the causes, symptoms, treatments, preventative measures, and local resources related to the disease/condition. Before you can create your health fair exhibit, you need to become an expert on everything related to your chosen disease/condition. That means you should be able to:
- Define what the disease/condition is.
- List/explain the symptoms of the disease/condition.
- Tell how a doctor will diagnose the disease/condition.
- List/explain treatment options for the disease/condition (medicine, therapy, alternative).
- Explain the causes of the disease/condition.
- Describe preventative health care measures that will help someone to avoid getting the disease/condition.
- Include a medical diagram of the major body system (healthy view) impacted by the disease/condition.
- Include a medical diagram showing the impact of the disease/condition on the body.
Research Process:
- Write a research
proposal for the
disease/condition that you would like to explore in greater
detail.
- Use the 4 sites listed below to complete your research.
- Complete a note form for each website you use.
- Combine all of your notes into a well written, edited report that addresses each of the required research topics.
- Your research will be evaluated according to this
rubric.
