Using Mail, SquirrelMail, and Address Book

Use the following rubrics to track your progress throughout the year. Your goal should be to master each of the 'Basic' and 'Proficient' skills as soon as you are able. Then move on to the 'Advanced' skills.


Using Mail to Email Messages

  • Open the Mail application.
  • Get mail.
  • Compose a new message.
  • Send a message.
  • Memorize your email address and password.
  • Delete a message.
  • Reply to a message.
  • Fill in the To line.
  • Fill in the Subject line.
  • Change locations from CLC to Automatic.
  • Add an attachment (Word document, image, iPhoto, website)
  • Empty trash and erase deleted messages.
  • Forward an email.
  • Reply to all.
  • Use the spell checker.
  • Use format options to adjust text alignment, font, color, style, etc.
  • Add a signature.
  • Use Quick Look button.
  • Use the search feature to find an email.

Using Webmail (SquirrelMail)

  • Select the webmail button from the CLC Home Page.
  • Fill in your email address and user id.
  • Select SquirrelMail.
  • Compose a message.
  • Send a message.
  • Change locations from CLC to Automatic.
  • Add an attachment to an email.
  • Send the email with the attachment.
  • Delete messages.
  • Expunge messages from the account.
  • Use the spell checker.
  • Reply to a message.
  • Reply all to a message.
  • Forward a message.
 

Using Address Book

  • Open Address Book.
  • Add an address book entry.
  • Edit an address book entry.
  • Delete a card.
  • Set up a group in Address Book.
