Using SMARTBoard Tools

Use the following rubric to track your progress throughout the year. Your goal should be to master each of the 'Basic' and 'Proficient' skills as soon as you are able. Then move on to the 'Advanced' skills.

  • Orient the board.
  • Press links to navigate through web pages.
  • Write on the board with a pen tool and use the eraser tool to erase writing.
  • Close ink layer.
  • Open the keyboard.
  • Open a new Notebook page.
  • Use the pen tool and/or your keyboard to insert text.
  • Save your notes (via a screen capture).
  • Open the gallery.
  • Make a Whack a Mole game.
  • Make a Jeopardy game.
  • Use the Recorder to capture a lesson.
  • Export the file.
  • Use ink aware to edit Word documents.
  • Jump between Smart Aware tools and Word document.
  • Add notes to PowerPoint presentation and save notes/drawings.
  • Customize objects (clone, make into a link, change transparency).
  • Use the screen shade and/or spotlight in an interactive lesson.
  • Use the SMART Response clickers in an interactive lesson.
