Who is this wacky teacher named Kelly? What makes him tick? Well, check out this cool shield to find out. The images and drawings will help you learn a lot more than you probably dared to know about me.
The first thing you need to know about me is that I like to be active. I enjoy playing many different sports, especially at recess. But my true passion is trail running. It began as short jogs through the woods to get my dogs some exercise. Now, those short jogs have turned into long runs. And next month a 50 mile ultra marathon represented by the "Mountainback" logo. When there is too much snow on the ground I turn to cross country skiing. Either way I get great exercise and am able to be out in nature and in the elements.
After a good run there is nothing like chowing down. I love to eat. Most people think of me as a health food nut as represented by the brussel sprouts, but everything in moderation. There is nothing better than a greasy, cheese pizza or or an ice cream sundea. Since I do eat so much I make sure that what goes in my body is wholesome and natural, as should you.
The bottom two images are an original drawing of a flying saucer, by me, and a clip art of bigfoot. What do these two images say about me? They say that I am someone who enjoys the mysteries in this world that we know so little about. That is what makes life so interesting. Everyday we learn or discover something new, and the learning never ends.
The motto I choose is, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." A quote from Gandhi. I believe that if we work to improve ourselves, whether through education, health, or our attitude towards others, we will make the world a better place. This is also represented by the color green, as in "green revolution" and the partition of my shield, a piece sign. I challenge you to be the change you wish to see in your world.
Although there is still a lot about me that you don't know, you now have a better idea about what makes me tick. I'm sure I'm not alone in my love for food or for discovering the mysteries of life (maybe in running 50 miles). So, I look forward to getting to know everyone in Team D/K and seeing us all grow and change for the better.
