Step 5: Identifying Customers

Understanding your customers' needs and wants is an important part of developing a new product. It is important to note that a product can and may need to appeal to more than one group of customers. During this activity, you will begin to analyze who your customers are and what they want and need out of a toy.

The completed customer analysis sheet must be printed and placed in your company log notebook.

  • Create Two 5 Question Surveys (Please see discussion.)
    • question survey for kids (Kid Development Form)
    • question survey for parents (Parent Development Form)
    • Mark must review all surveys prior to the surveys being administered.
    • One copy of each survey must be placed in company log notebook.
    • Each member of the team is responsible for having 3 kids fill out the Kid Survey and two parents fill out the Parent Survey.
