Board Meeting 5/27/99
Call to Order: 8:00
Budget:
- We are still on solid ground when it comes to our finances.
- We will have a special work session to review the budget.

- Budget team will meet Thursday 6/10 at 7:00.
New Students
- Lottery will be at 7:00 on Thursday at 6/10.
Approval of CAO job description:
- The state sent us a description, but we do not need to follow their description. We can come up with our own.
- Our school is so different that we decided to write a new job description for the CAO.
- Josephine will be writing it.
Personnel Issue
- Should we discuss personnel in an open meeting or in a closed executive session?
- We may want to have all board members present in order to decide if we should rehire current staff and hire new staff.
- We would like to make the new person decision tonight.
- Glenn Johnson is our first choice for new teacher.
- Glenn has k - 12 certification.
- Glenn will be hired based on a consensus of board members and parents.
- Teachers will be hired under an open ended agreement. This agreement will be open to review if a problem arises.
Other Items:
- Let’s put carpeting in room two and probably room one.
- Internet Access will be mandatory next year.
- We need to work on training parents on using Internet Access for next year.
- Let’s set up an adoption program where parents of current students work with new parents and families.
- Brian will be working with parents to set up a summer computer camp for students.
