Read a collection of Greek myths. 

 

As you read each myth, look for the following factors:

 

1.   Belief in fantastic creatures such as centaurs, minotaurs, dragons and harpies

2.   The role of gods in determining the fate of humans

3.   The glorification of bravery

4.   Views of good and evil, and the genesis of them

5.   The role of women as helpers, bringers of justice and bringers of sorrow

6.   The nature of quests

7.   Intelligence versus brute strength

8.   Reward for good deeds

9.   Overcoming obstacles as a virtue

10.                 The role of curiosity in human affairs

11.                 The role of hope in helping humans deal with misfortune

12.                 The virtue of truth; the evil of falsehood

13.                 Failure to heed warnings

 

After you have finished reading your collection of myths, pick as least 3 myths to write about in your essay.  Your topic is:
